about
Okay! This is it. 52 Memories is the last song of my debut EP called CLOSE. I'm closing a chapter of my life and I'm happy to complete it with this particular song.. (although, I'll be living the story of 52 Memories forever).
To you, all the faces in the music video for this song (it's on YouTube) are strange, but to me, they are the dearest ones I have in my life. "Friends and aunts and uncles, mom and dad and brothers and our little darling ones" - this is my family. I've been living in music since the day I was born and I'm very grateful for that.
I'm a '90s kid, so I don't have many videos of me when I was little, I did manage to find some though. It was also very difficult to describe my whole life from this point of view - and put it into just one song (very similar to 25 Years, and yes, these two songs are strongly related to each other).
The river, the cabin, the rehearsal places... they are my home that I feel safe in. While editing the video, I was very touched by the fact that I'm priviledged to see how all of us aged - "growing up, getting older" - how time flies! Some of us are no longer here and I miss them. My personality was influenced by all of these people deeply and I'm very thankful. Musically, I'm definitely who I am because of this family I've been given. And, of course, who I am as a person. Thank you, I'm very blessed to be a "52 Kid".
In loving memory of Otto Chalupník and Zdeněk Votýpka.
Always,
Evvie 🖤
lyrics
sun is settling down
I’m touching the sky
mmm
higher, swimming and flying
watching the ocean
our stories in blue
hold me
before I go
tell me what you feel
is it fake or is it real
watch me
before I fall
show me what you see
in my golden galaxy
sweet maple eyes
I’m drowning too deep
closer, I wanna remember
how it feels to fly
and I don’t wanna lie
catch me
when I fall
tell me it’s okay
that we won’t fade away
wake me
after I’m gone
show me that it’s real
and we won’t disappear
